The Farah Family Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of those in need. We focus on providing resources and opportunities that empower individuals and families to thrive in their communities.
In the beginning, we started this Charity to promote children's charities and the Arts in our community.
In recognition for his community efforts, Michael Farah was named Arab American of the Year in 2023.
Michael met Danny Thomas at age 16 while he was donating his time to a St. Jude’s radiothon in Los Angeles, CA. Michael had the personality to answer the phone and encourage callers to donate more money than they intentionally called in for. Throughout the evening, Danny Thomas was laughing and enjoying what became the most successful radiothon at that point for St. Jude’s Hospital in Los Angeles. At the conclusion of the radiothon, at 6am, Danny invited Michael to breakfast at Denny’s across the street on Sunset, where he offered a job to Mike as his assistant. The two continued working together for the next 12 years; all the while, Mike was an unpaid volunteer. Michael will continue to work for St. Jude’s as a volunteer for the rest of his life. The Farah Foundation continues to co-sponsor events for St. Jude’s around the country.
One of the great events of Michael’s St. Jude career was when he attended the new St. Jude hospital location at the American University of Beirut in 2002.
Michael and Chris, both as young teenagers, had careers in the arts. Chris was involved in many stage productions and TV appearances. She tours the country in productions and her one-woman shows, of which she also writes and produces. She sits on numerous entertainment boards, such as The Hollywood Fringe Festival, LACMA, and the Broadway Museum in New York.
The Farah Family Foundation supports three Museums, including the educational programs of the Arab America Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
The Foundation is now leading the creation of the Kahlil Gibran Historical Museum in Southern California.

Michael Farah had extensive experience being an actor growing up in Hollywood and even a television host for PBS "On the Town with Mike Farah". His daughter, Christine, was raised in the arts and became a very successful actress, producer, and writer in Hollywood, creating several characters that were successful in runs in Hollywood that lasted over seven years. Naturally, their friends in New York who observed all this activity in Hollywood wanted them involved, and approached them to think about producing not only television and live shows in Hollywood, but Broadway shows in New York and through these connections, they started to look at bringing back some great stories from Broadway's past.
Michael Farah chose to invest in the plays Damn Yankees, Romeo and Juliet, Oh Mary! and the Buena Vista Social Club based on past experiences and knowledge of the stories.
At The Farah Family Foundation, we believe in the power of community. Our mission is to uplift those in need through various programs and initiatives that address critical issues such as poverty, education, and health. With your support, we can extend our reach and impact more lives. Together, we can create lasting change and inspire hope in our communities. Join us as we work towards a brighter future for everyone.
The Farah Family founded and funded the Celebrity Foundation for Children.
Through this charity, they built Celebrity Ranch, the largest charity children's ranch in the world.
Set on 125 acres in the wine country of Temecula, California, they host over 10,000 children for weekend stays. Another 5,000 children are brought to the ranch through school and church systems and special educational programs.
Join us in our efforts to make a difference in the world. Together, we can create lasting change and improve the lives of children in need.
To create a bridge between the Middle East and the United States starting in 2000, Michael founded the American Lebanese Trade Board. In 2001 he continued by founding the American Lebanese Chamber of Commerce based in Newport Beach, CA. In 2002 Michael wrote an economic plan for Lebanon which was read by the Lebanese government, and subsequently invited Michael on a speaking tour in April 2002.
This tour was so successful that the government invited Michael back in September of 2002 in which he brought 65 America business people for a second tour. The Lebanese prime minister then invited Michael to be an honorary Consul General based in Southern California.
Michael continues today on speaking tours around the United States promoting the understanding of Arab Americans and their heritage.
In 2023, Michael Farah was named Arab American of the year.
Kahlil Gibran Monument was built as a tribute to the Arab American poet Kahlil Gibran.
After 20 years the monument started to deteriorate without a supporting trust fund. As Arab American of the year, Michael was asked to rehabilitate the monument located in the diplomatic section of Washington, D.C.
Twenty Americans were contracted to join him with a $25,000.00 donation, which raised a half a million dollars. The Michael and Christine Farah Family Foundation matched all the donors. The total rehabilitation of the Monument and Embassy Residences in Washington D.C. is now underway and fully funded.
